In an effort to keep all members of our community safe, Nexwsxwníw̓ntm ta Úxwumixw passed this resolution and directed Nation staff to create bylaws regarding the prohibition of fireworks sales and usage with fines for those who do not follow them.

Per the regulations, “Council directed that exceptions to the prohibition on fireworks could be made by resolution by Council” for a Nation organized event, for example. Nation departments should email Ta na wa Téy̓wilhay̓lhem (Public Safety) at public_safety@squamish.net as a starting point to discuss further.
