🌱Come and enjoy the arrival of sunny days with your neighbours with a BBQ in Old Ottawa East. The event is free and for everyone, families are welcome! No need to register, simply show up at the location.
 
The event is organized by the Atelier, in collaboration with the Community Activities Group (CAG) of Old Ottawa East. 
 
Schedule:
3PM – Interested in gardening? Come and learn how to grow vegetables with seeds with Agricola Cooperative Farm. You will be able to take your seeds at home and get home-grown veggies later on.
 
15h00 – La promenade de Jane – À la découverte d’Ottawa-Est. Accompagné.e de Michel Prévost, historien en patrimoine régional et ancien archiviste en chef de l’Université d’Ottawa, venez découvrir l’histoire méconnue et le riche patrimoine de la rue Main. Activité facilitée en français. Les places sont limitées, veuillez vous inscrire ici
 
4:30PM onwards – Bring your plates, forks and spoons, we’ll have free food (meat and veggie options)!
Food will be locally sourced from local shops in the neighbourhood.

We will have food from local businesses established in Old Ottawa East or the Glebe:
 
Glebe Meat Market   Hot-dogs (beef & pork) and hamburgers (beef) 
Greens & Beans    Rice and Chicken (halal), falafels, hummus, salad, pita breads   
Sula Wok    Fried rice, egg rolls and spring rolls 
Green Door   A variety of salads (vegan, nut-free and gluten-free)

It’s nice outside? Meet us at the Children’s Garden at Robert F. Legget Park (in case of bad weather, we’ll meet at the Mauril-Bélanger Social Innovation Workshop (95 Clegg St.))

The Atelier:
The Atelier is a not-for-profit, member-based organization. We are an inclusive bilingual space (physical and virtual) for collaboration, training, knowledge-sharing, and support for social innovations. In collaboration with our partners, we offer training; professional support; opportunities for visibility and; funding to individuals and initiatives pioneering new organizational models, social practices and tools for civic engagement to be used in the fight against social inequalities and various forms of oppression. Among other things, the space can be rented for all sort of events and activities (e.g., team meetings, retreats, book launches, film screenings, networking events and much more). The Community Activities Group of Old Ottawa East (CAG) is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that works in partnership with the City of Ottawa to provide the residents of Ottawa East with programming, recreation, and special event opportunities that are local, affordable, inclusive and of
interest to members of our community.
 
Agricola is a worker’s cooperative, which means that it’s owned by the workers who grow your food. We believe that food should build community, be ecologically sustainable and be a pleasure to grow and eat. As a cooperative farm, we seek to create meaningful work for ourselves by growing organic food that nourishes local communities. We strive to engage generously and responsibly with the world around us in order to contribute to a more equitable, sustainable food system. Our vegetables are certified organic by Ecocert Canada.

🌱Venez au barbecue de printemps pour profiter du beau temps avec vos voisins dans le Vieil Ottawa Est. L’événement est gratuit et tout le monde est le bienvenu, les familles également! L’inscription n’est pas nécessaire, vous n’avez qu’à vous présenter.
 

Apportez vos assiettes, fourchettes, cuillères et vos bouteilles, nous aurons de la nourriture gratuite (viande et options végétariennes et végétaliennes)! La nourriture sera proviendra des restaurants et magasins du quartier.

Le barbecue aura lieu dans le jardin d’enfants du parc Robert F. Legget (au coin des rues Clegg et Main); en cas de mauvais temps, la rencontre aura lieu à l’Atelier d’innovation sociale Mauril-Bélanger (95 rue Clegg).
