Welcome to REDCap!

REDCap is a secure web platform for building and managing online databases and surveys. REDCap's streamlined process for rapidly creating and designing projects offers a vast array of tools that can be tailored to virtually any data collection strategy.

REDCap provides automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R), as well as a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad hoc reporting tools, and advanced features, such as branching logic, file uploading, and calculated fields.

Office Hours

The REDCap team will offer virtual office hours every Tuesday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. The only exception for the month of April 2024 will be Tuesday 16th April, when the virtual office hours will be held from 11:30 AM EST to 1:30 PM EST.

April Update

WE-SPARK provides access to REDCap for our members. In the last month, 4 new projects were created within REDCap. Currently, we host:   

  • 12 Basic Science/Bench Research Projects   
  • 28 Translational Research Projects   
  • 13 Behavioral Science Research Projects   
  • 47 Clinical Research Projects 

REDCap Tips and Tricks

User Tip of the Month: 

REDCap surveys have a feature called the 'Data History' widget. It allows viewing the previous entries made in any record field, upon clicking the adjacent 'H' bubble.

For example, though the current entry may be "eats spicy food 5 times per month," clicking the 'H' bubble / Data history widget reveals that previous entries for the same record were "eats spicy food 3 times per day" and "eats spicy food 5 times per week."  

Data Backup Reminder

Your data is backed up daily at the system level by UWindsor Information Technology Services (ITS), however, it is good practice for users to routinely back up their own projects and data.  This provides an added layer of security that helps secure data in the event of user error or disaster recovery.
