Elementary
Students will receive an introduction to a variety of dramatic forms and techniques, with a focus on building a collaborative creative environment and mounting a play. Students will explore drama, develop transferable skills, and develop the confidence necessary to collaborate, lead, speak publicly, and perform in front of audiences.
Secondary
In addition to the aforementioned skills learned in elementary, students will expand on those and also explore the elements of stagecraft, directing, film and production.
Students will also learn about different acting styles, acting for stage and film, directing plays, backstage production and design, musical theatre production, writing original works, film-making, and how to use their creative talents to improve and serve our community.
Students will perform in plays and collaborate with vocal majors for Performing Arts showcases. They will also have the opportunity to audition for roles and perform in large-scale musical theatre productions mounted in our state-of-the-art theatre with a live orchestra composed of instrumental music majors.
