Permission to Go Off Property for Lunch
Off property lunches will begin next week. The permission form will include additional details.
Any student without permission to go off property will continue to have lunch and go out for recess, as per our regular school routines.
Bus Information
We have over 50 buses that drop-off and pick-up students at Calvin Park PS/LCVI each day, and we try our very best to get all students on their buses at the correct time. Your student should be waiting for their bus ten minutes prior to pick-up both in the morning and in the afternoon.
Please note that self-advocacy is the best skill a student can have when navigating busing procedures at Calvin Park PS. There are many students getting on and off buses at one time. If your student misses the bus, please direct them to go to the bus monitor who is always wearing an orange reflective vest or one of our other team members who are in the area supporting students. A student can also return inside and come to our office to make a phone call if they miss the bus. We are always happy to help :)
It Is World Mental Health Day
For more resources about students' mental health needs, check out the School Mental Health Ontario website, where you can access resources for a variety of topics that students may be navigating (stress, anxiety, identity, etc.).
There is a section of the site geared towards parents and caregivers, including some points on how to identify if your student is experiencing a mental health problem.
