Calvin Park Public School: November 14th - 18th
Dear Calvin Park Families,
Thank you to Ms. Tang who compiled a beautiful, virtual Remembrance Day Ceremony that was attended by Calvin Park and LCVI students alike. The ceremony was a compilation of the efforts of many students from our school, including students' artwork, voices, research, and writing. We will remember.
On Thursday and Friday of this past week, grade 7 and 8 students received their immunizations. If your student was absent those days, please contact KFL&A Public Health to make an alternate arrangement.
We look forward to another wonderful week!
Volleyball Update
The girls' team continually showed development in their skills and rallies. Serves, 3 hits, and team enthusiasm were just a few of the highlights along with our contagious "C-O-M (clap clap clap) E-T-S (clap clap clap), Calvin Comets are the BEST!" Be sure to check out the slides in the front foyer for some of the fun pics of the teams in action!
Congrats to the boys’ A volleyball team who had a fantastic showing over the weekend. The boys went undefeated all the way to the finals where they lost a close game by only a few points in the 3rd set. What a performance! Way to make Calvin proud!
Mamma Mia! LCVI School Musical
Calvin Park is invited to see a matinee performance of Mamma Mia! on Wednesday, November 30th. The musical production will start at 8:30 am and runs for approx. 2 hours. The cost of this matinee performance is $2 per student.

Free Virtual Tutoring
Limestone Tutoring Resources: As part of the Ministry of Education Tutoring Grant, LDSB is offering an afterschool drop-in Virtual Tutoring Program for Limestone students in Grades 1 to 10. Tutoring will be available through MS Teams from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from October 11 until December 15, 2022.
Guidelines for Virtual Tutoring for Limestone Students
- The student must be logged in to MS Teams using their Limestone account. The student’s camera and microphone should be on so that the student and tutor can communicate more effectively.
- The student should have the materials that they need with them. The student should try to set up in an area in the home with minimal distractions for the tutoring session.
- There are four tutors available for each grade group each night and students can join a tutoring session by clicking on any of the four links for their grade. Students must only use the links for their grade level.
- If a tutor is already working with a student, subsequent students will be placed in the lobby of the meeting and then be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis once the tutoring session for the previous student is completed. Tutoring sessions will be 15 minutes long and may be extended if no other students are waiting.
