Pink Shirt Day and Anti-Bullying Week
Ontario has designated the week beginning on the third Sunday of November as Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week to help promote safe schools and a positive learning environment. During Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week – November 20-26, 2022 – Ontario students, school staff and parents are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on student learning and well-being.
Thursday, November 24th is District-Wide Pink Shirt Day!
There are several “pink” shirt days in the calendar year claimed by different groups but this one is focused on bullying prevention and awareness.
School Advisory Council
Please join us for our next meeting tomorrow, Monday, November 21 starting at 6:30 pm in the Library. We also have a virtual option to attend the meeting: Nov 21 School Advisory Council Meeting Link. All are welcome!
Mamma Mia! Musical
On Wednesday, November 30th, Calvin Park PS students will be attending a morning showing of “Mamma Mia!”, a musical production starring LCVI students. This performance is approximately two hours in duration, and the cost for Calvin Park PS students is $2 each. Please hand in $2 to your teacher by Tuesday, November 29th. Notices will be sent home on Monday, November 21st.
If you would like to come and see the show outside of the Calvin Park PS viewing, tickets are now on sale. Evening performance dates are December 1, 2, and 3 in the LCVI Cafetorium. Tickets may be purchased for $15 in the LCVI main office during the first 20 minutes of lunch, or email Marie in the main office (pepinm@limestone.on.ca). You won’t want to miss this incredible production!

Mental Health Support
There are many community organizations, including The Maltby Centre, that offer a variety of resources to support students and families. The Maltby Centre (https://maltbycentre.ca/) provides mental health and autism services to children and youth, and works with clients in schools, homes, and other locations.

Updated Links for MS Teams Virtual Tutoring
Virtual tutoring for LDSB students in Grade 1-10 is available through MS Teams from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until December 15, 2022.
Tutoring will not be available on PA Days or holidays.

November is Indigenous Education Month and Hindu Heritage Month. From November 19th - 27th, the HOSA Fall Leadership Conference is taking place. We have several students, in collaboration with LCVI, participating. We wish all of our HOSA participants the best of luck in their health science field of study. Please check the Activities Board for additional team tryouts and practices.
