CITYREACH SURREY
We are excited to announce that CityReach has expanded our operations and programs to Surrey! We believe that Surrey is a city of great need, and that we have been positioned to make an impact. We want to bring Hope and Help to see people prosper!
THE OPPORTUNITY
Surrey is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada. With a population of over 500,000, it is estimated to double in size by 2040.
1 in 5 children living in Surrey is growing up below the poverty line.
Surrey has many refugees, migrants, and immigrants living in low-income housing.
Much like the Downtown East Side of Vancouver, Surrey has a high rate of those dealing with homelessness, addiction, and mental health.
…but this is not the end of the story. This is our opportunity to serve.
OUR RESPONSE
Over the coming seasons, we will be strategically expanding CityReach initiatives into Surrey, one program and event at a time, while working alongside other community partners and getting to know the needs of the city.
JOIN OUR SURREY ‘ADOPT A SCHOOL’ TEAM:
We are bringing food security and other essential supports to select high-needs schools in the Guildford-Whalley areas of Surrey. We now have a weekly food hamper distribution at four local elementary schools, and are currently looking for individuals interested to volunteer with us at the school sites and to drive weekly on Thursday afternoons.
As well, we have events that happen throughout the year where volunteers are needed.

JOIN OUR SURREY ‘FOOD FOR FAMILIES’ TEAM:
We are currently looking for individuals interested in helping us provide for families with food support. Volunteering may include driving, distributing hampers, and helping with setup and cleanup on Thursday afternoons at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Surrey.

We are currently seeking individuals with a passion to serve those facing homelessness, addiction and mental health challenges to volunteer with our weekly program on Sunday afternoons.
