River Conditions Forecast

Last Update: 2024-04-18 3:42 PM
Next Update: 2024-04-19 4:00 PM

Flows and water levels along the main stem of the Ottawa River remain above normal for this time of year from Mattawa down to Lake Deschenes due to increased spring runoff from the northwest and central portions of the basin. Ongoing precipitation is slowing the decrease in flows and levels resulting in fairly stable levels and flows in all locations, with some locations from Mattawa down to Chats Lake possibly seeing slight increases. Levels and flows should begin to decline early next week everywhere. Please refer to the forecast section of our website for more information about the river conditions in your area. Minor flooding in low-lying areas may occur over the next few days. Low-lying areas are those locations that regularly flood during the spring freshet period.
