The Regional District of Mount Waddington, in partnership with the District of Port Hardy, Town of Port McNeill, Village of Alert Bay and Village of Port Alice, are developing a Regional Accessibility Plan.
After consultation with WorkSafeBC and local roofing installers regarding waste generated from the replacement of roofs, the Regional District of Mount Waddington (RDMW) is now able to accept roofing waste as regular solid waste without the need of lab tests to verify the absence of asbestos. The RDMW will continue to seek direction from WorkSafeBC regarding Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) with the intent to protect worker health while maintaining accessibility of landfill services for the public. If you have any questions, please contact the Operations Manager at 250 956-3301. Thank you.
