Launched in 2015, Scarborough Cycles is now a program of Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services in partnership with the City of Toronto.*
Scarborough Cycles has three community bike hubs which are located at AccessPoint on Danforth, Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre, and in the Lawrence-Orton neighbourhood.
Our Bike Hubs offer access to bicycles, tools, do-it-yourself repair clinics, workshops, group rides, and civic engagement/mentorship opportunities for residents.
The program is part of the City’s Community Reduce & Reuse Program, which reduces waste and builds sustainable communities by:
- providing opportunities to reuse, share and repair items
- offering skills training and creating job and economic opportunities
- creating spaces for community members to gather
This program promotes cycling culture and waste diversion by repairing bicycles that would have otherwise become scrap metal or gone to landfill. More information about the Community Reduce & Reuse Programs is available at toronto.ca/reduce-reuse
