Virtual by Necessity is the work of the 2021 OCAD University Graphic Design graduating class. In a year of change and disruption, this year's students made the adjustment to an entirely online learning experience, still managing to make exceptional work that takes on the current moment and addresses the inevitable presence of flux and change. This site features work researched, envisioned and created over the 2021 academic year by students from a wide set of disciplines. Our work truly was virtual by necessity this year. In spite of that, and often because of that, we've made work that isn't afraid to take a hard look at where we're at in design, and where we're at in the world.
