January 20, 2021
Dear College Community:

It feels like we could all use a lift these days, which is why we’re so excited to introduce a brand new event that’s dedicated to giving you a boost: AC ENGAGE. This event is designed with you in mind, using the key themes of inspire, share, celebrate and connect to determine and shape the content. Building off AC Vision’s framework, AC Engage aims to bring the College community back together to reconnect. You are welcome to drop in, attend a few sessions, or block off your whole day! We want you to engage with whatever piques your interest.

This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, February 9. Here’s what’s in store:

12:20pm-12:40pm:  AC Narrative (Giving Back/Community)

Algonquin College’s Development team is proud to host Tanya Woods, Chief Impact Officer of Project In-Kind, the world’s first-ever global in-kind philanthropy and social impact movement.

This is an information session about the Project in Kind initiative. In spring 2020, Algonquin College and Project in Kind signed a memorandum of understanding to engage in a partnership that harnesses the power of community in impacting our world by directly contributing to the UN’s 17 sustainability goals (called SDG’s) through “in-kind” efforts. Despite the onset of the pandemic, the partnership found ways to work virtually to positively impact the planet through the AC community. Through the AC Project in Kind partnership, any member of the AC community can find tools and resources to harness their current contributions to the 17  SDG’s—many of which they may be unwittingly doing already throughout their day, and find ways to further contribute. The power of community allows us to see big impacts from little contributions when we combine our efforts; come learn how you can be a part of this movement to give back.

Participants will also have an opportunity to engage with our Development colleagues and learn more about supporting student learning through donations to Algonquin College
