Indigenous people have been chronically unsupported in Canada, and the intergenerational trauma takes a toll on kids and teens to this day. Especially in small towns, where the experience of being Indigenous in Canada is even more polarizing, it's important for Indigenous youth to have safe spaces with elders and fellow Indigenous youth, where they can learn about their culture, languages, and value, and they have a place where their experiences and trauma are validated and can receive help.
