Urban Science Brass Band
URBAN SCIENCE BRASS BAND est un orchestre de hip-hop dynamique qui performe avec l'intensité et feu d'une performance surprise dans la rue. Fusionnant le brass band de la Nouvelle-Orléans avec le hip-hop moderne, c'est avec leur énergie contagieuse, rap multi-lingue et prestations innovantes qu'ils sont rapidement devenus une force incontournable sur la scène musicale montréalaise.
Mettant en vedette les plus renommés des musiciens de Montréal dans un seul groupe, ses membres ont performé ou enregistré avec artistes tel que Talib Kweli, Nelly, KRS-One, Illa J, Snarky Puppy, Erik Truffaz, Bran Van 3000 ou encore Imhothep (IAM). Les accomplissements notables de ses membres sont par exemple, le titre mondial 2016 de End of the Weak, la victoire à 6 reprises du King of the Dot, une prestation à The Tonight Show, et des commandites artistiques de Soultone Cymbals et Dream Cymbals.
URBAN SCIENCE BRASS BAND a été invité à des résidences au Festival de Jazz depuis 2017. Ils sont mis en vedette dans le documentaire “Vacations of the Brave” sur Amazon Prime. Ils sont un projet antenne de URBAN SCIENCE #LECYPHER.
URBAN SCIENCE BRASS BAND is a dynamic hip-hop orchestra that performs with the intensity and fire of a guerilla street performance. Fusing the brass band sound of New Orleans with modern hip-hop, their contagious energy, multi-lingual rap, and inventive performances have made them mainstays of the Montreal music scene.
Featuring some of Montreal’s most sought-after and world-recognized artists in one group, they have performed and/or recorded with such artists as Talib Kweli, Nelly, KRS-One, Illa J, Snarky Puppy, Erik Truffaz, Bran Van 3000, and Imhothep (IAM). Notable achievements amongst its members are 2016 world champion of End of the Weak, 6-time King of the Dot champion, an appearance on the Tonight Show, and artist sponsorships from Soultone Cymbals and Dream Cymbals.
URBAN SCIENCE BRASS BAND has been holding down Jazz Festival residencies since 2017. They are featured in the Amazon Prime documentary “Vacations of the Brave”. They are an off-shoot project of URBAN SCIENCE #LECYPHER.
