About Us
Foundations for Social Change is a charitable organization located in Vancouver, B.C. that develops evidence-based solutions to advance social change. We pair a bold entrepreneurial mindset with scientific rigour, using data and evidence to evaluate our work and measure impact. Envisioning a kind and inclusive world where everyone thrives, we successfully piloted the world’s first program to use cash transfers to reduce homelessness.
The New Leaf Project
As our first initiative, Foundations for Social Change launched a bold social research program, the New Leaf project, in which we provided direct cash transfers to individuals, to empower them to move beyond homelessness. We believe we need to go beyond managing the homelessness crisis through the provision of emergency services such as shelters and meal programs, and look at interventions that can lead to long-term, sustainable change.
We seek solutions to ongoing social issues, like homelessness, with an entrepreneurial mindset. Our flagship undertaking is the New Leaf project.
