With very heavy hearts, the family of Ed Albert announce his passing at the Ottawa General Hospital Palliative Care Unit on August 9, 2021 at the age of 77 years.  He was always surrounded by his loving family during his final days amidst hospital restrictions.

Beloved husband of Rosemarie for almost 55 years, devoted father of Alana (Gerald Ardell) and Jennifer (Mike Seguin) and doting grandfather of Joseph Ardell.  Predeceased by his father Joseph Alexandre, mother Ethel Mae (Forsythe) and sister Jessie Milc (Albert).

Retired Captain from the City of Ottawa Fire Department after 37 years of service.

Friends are invited to visit the family at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Sunday, August 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will be private and in light of COVID restrictions, there will be no reception.

Donations in Eddie’s memory may be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Our deepest condlences to the whole family. It just wasn't the same if Ed wasn't at the boys' hockey game, analysing the plays, coaching the refs and generally bringing some good humour to the stands. We will all miss him. Thinking of all of you. xoxo

A larger than life personality, Eddie enlivened many minor hockey games, where he was Joe’s number 1 and loudest supporter. Always ready with a quip or a story, he made the time pass quickly. His spirit and shenanigans will be missed.
