2021 Urban Indigenous Education Centre Career Launcher

Details

OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

Urban Indigenous Education Centre in partnership with the OCAD U Indigenous Student Centre (ISC) and the RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) invite applications from artists and designers for the Urban Indigenous Education Centre Career Launcher, an opportunity for OCAD U students and recent grads to join the Toronto District School Board’s Educational Partnerships Program.

The Urban Indigenous Education Centre at the Toronto District School Board is looking for OCAD U artists and designers to join a list of partners that provide Indigenous educational programming, workshops, seminars, presentations, performances, or educational services during instructional time in schools. Partners are frequently invited to secondary classrooms to support teachers offering courses from the Ontario Curriculum, Grades 9 to 12, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Studies Curriculum. Partners are paid for their workshops and programming and determine their own rates. Partners often use CARFAC rates to determine their fees and rates can include materials costs.

This is a great opportunity for creatives who are interested in teaching, mentorship and growing experience in classrooms.

This Career Launcher is presented by the OCAD U Indigenous Student Centre and RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers. The OCAD U Indigenous Student Centre offers a welcoming environment with a wide range of specialized services to support academic, cultural, social and emotional well-being of Indigenous students at OCAD University. Learn more about the ISC
