Anti-Doping Information for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Now Available for Canadian Athletes

Ottawa – June 7, 2022 – Anti-doping information for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is now available for Team Canada athletes and support personnel. The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) has consolidated information about therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs), whereabouts, Games-time doping control and supplement use for the Commonwealth Games. Go to www.cces.ca/birmingham2022.

All athletes and medical support personnel should be aware of the change to the status of injectable glucocorticoids that came into effect with the 2022 Prohibited List. All injectable routes of administration of glucocorticoids are now prohibited in-competition. For more information, including a glucocorticoid washout table, see the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Glucocorticoids and Therapeutic Use Exemptions Guidelines.

Congratulations and good luck to all Team Canada athletes who will represent Canada in Birmingham! We encourage Team Canada to live their values and to embrace the True Sport Principles that represent the good sport Canadians believe in.
