Supply Chain Task Force

Consultation has concluded

Changes to the global supply chain have affected Canada’s economy. They have made access to essential goods and supplies slower, more expensive, and less reliable. This has made it more difficult for Canadian businesses to get their products to global markets. These problems have been made even worse by:

  • the on-going COVID-19 pandemic
  • climate change
  • major events, like the recent flooding in the lower mainland of British Columbia

A national Supply Chain Task Force has been created to study these complex supply chain challenges. This task force is made up of many different industry experts, and will talk to a lot of people, to find the main problems. They will also recommend ways to improve both the domestic and international linkages of the transportation system and supply chain, by increasing:

  • competition
  • access
  • resiliency
  • redundancy
  • efficiency
  • investment

Read more about the mandate of the task force here.

Jean Gattuso and Louise Yako will co-chair the Task Force. A Secretariat has been set up to provide support to the Task Force.

We want to hear from you.
