COVID-19 Vaccine Information for residents of Windsor and Essex County
There are three vaccine programs available for eligible individuals in our area.

1) Windsor-Essex County Health Unit Vaccination Clinics


  • Adults 18+ (born in 2003 or earlier) living in "hot spot" postal codes: N8X, N8Y, N9A, N9B, N9C, N8H, N9Y
  • Adults 40+ (born in 1981 or earlier) with at-risk health conditions
  • Adults 50+ (born in 1971 or earlier)
  • Prioritized Health Care Workers
  • Individuals with highest/high-risk health conditions and select Essential Caregivers
  • Individuals working in licensed childcare settings in Windsor-Essex County
  • Adults in First Nations, Métis, and Inuit populations
  • Adult recipients of Chronic Home Health Care

In addition, on Thursday, May 6th at 9:30 a.m., the following phase 2 priority population groups in Windsor and Essex County will be eligible to book an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine at any targeted vaccination clinic:

How do I book a vaccine appointment for the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit Vaccination Clinics?

You can book an appointment by visiting the dedicated online booking system that can also be accessed from wevax.ca 24hrs/day or by contacting WECHU’s booking hotline at 226-773-2200, available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

2) Pharmacy Vaccination Program

Who is eligible?

  • Adults 40+ (born in 1981 or earlier) 

How do I book a vaccine appointment through the Pharmacy Vaccination Program?

As of April 20, 2021, select pharmacies across Windsor and Essex County are booking appointments for eligible people ages 40 or older in 2021. To book an appointment, find a pharmacy near you offering the service and contact the pharmacy directly. 

3) Windsor-Essex County Health Unit “Pop-Up" Vaccination Clinics

Who is eligible?

  • Adults 18+ (living in a specific hot-spot postal code)

How do I get a vaccine at the Health Unit's “pop-up” clinic?

On Monday, May 3 (today), the health unit will have pop-up vaccination clinics for those that live or work in the N9A and N9C postal code areas from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • St. Angela Centre and Hall - 750 Erie Street East
  • Mackenzie Hall - 3277 Sandwich Street West

All eligible residents will need to show proof of address and it will be “walk-in” only, with no appointment required. Each pop-up location will have a set amount of vaccine available and will only last for one day.

What if I can not get to a Pharmacy or Vaccine Clinic? 

Windsor and Essex County residents living in “Hot Spot” areas who have been scheduled for a vaccine can contact Vets Cab at (519) 256-2621 or Sun Parlor Taxi at (519) 326-9063 to take advantage of the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce’s program and arrange free transportation. Residents who require wheelchair accessible taxi services can contact Checker Cab at (519) 254-7777.

Transit Windsor is currently offering a Vaccine Free Ride program for all individuals requiring transportation services. This service provides free round-trip service to those being vaccinated – simply let the bus operator know you are traveling to or from your vaccination appointment to receive your free trip.
