OrientationThe goal of this program is to familiarize newly-hired nurses with nursing practice standards and policies at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Nurses are introduced to eD-H – Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s electronic health record – and our competency-based orientation plan.

The Trauma Program at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) provides care for patients who come through the Emergency Department requiring immediate treatment of injuries. The program is the only trauma center in New Hampshire to earn a Level One Trauma Center verification.

Continuing EducationThe Center for Learning and Professional Development’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) offices offer courses and conferences for physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals in the New England region and beyond.

Sim LabThe Patient Safety Training Center (PSTC) at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center provides services and facilities for multidisciplinary experiential learning. We provide a safe environment offering a full spectrum of opportunities for learning, as well as personal and professional challenge.

CaringDartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s Nurse Residency Program provides a structured orientation experience that allows newly graduated RNs – and nurses with less than one year of clinical experience – to begin their nursing career with confidence.

PeriopThis is a 10-month program for new graduate nurses combining Association of peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN) approved online didactic learning with clinical skills labs and experiences in the Operating Room.

Periop 101The program begins with participation in selected Experienced Nurse Orientation (ENO) offerings. Following ENO, participants combine Association of peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN) approved online didactic content with clinical skills labs and hands-on experiences in the Operating Room.
