AU/SE Care Circle - Support for 2SLGBTQIA Folks
We are seeking folks willing to help provide pastoral care and support to to members of the2SLGBTQIA+ community and their families. Many queer folks/families have faced trauma both within and beyond their church home. At a time of increasing harm, we want to help connect willing support people with those in need. As an organization, AU/SE will connect folks in need of care to someone in our Care Circle, so they can receive support and know they are not alone.

We are looking to offer this in both an online format, and in-person (should there be someone in the person’s area who is reaching out). As a support person, you would see a variety of scenarios, including supporting families when their child comes out and providing emotional support to those feeling harmed by hateful legislation.

If you are someone with experience in pastoral care of the queer community, and you would consider being a part of this Care Circle, please fill out the form below to be added to the very beginning of this initiative. This program is not yet live or publicly available, so please do not refer folks in need of support to the Care Circle yet. We will be in contact with all who fill out this form before launching this initiative. Filling out this form is not a guarantee or commitment; at this time we are checking interest to see what we can safely offer.

We are hoping that in the future, we will be able to offer payment to the care providers within our Care Circle. At this time, we are seeking volunteer support.

*Please note that this program is not clinical in nature - we will NOT be providing counselling or psychotherapy. This is short-term emotional support.*
