JDC 2024 Participation & Social Application Form
**DEADLINE TO REGISTER: SEPTEMBER 18TH, 11:59PM**

Eligibility: To participate in the competition, you must be a Telfer student enrolled in at least 2 courses that count towards your B.Com over the 2023 Fall Semester, or be enrolled in a COOP term through Telfer.

Competition Dates: January 5th-8th 2024 (Note: If you are in COOP, you will have to miss Friday the 5th and Monday the 8th. If you are taking courses, you will miss courses on Monday Jan 8th)

PARTICIPATION ROLE: You are the #1 HYPE PERSON; you know how to energize a crowd and how to motivate others by spreading positive energy! Your weekend will be filled with fun activities that will keep everyone engaged throughout the competition. 

In addition to your high energy and motivation, you will receive a number of tasks to complete prior and during the competition. We will need a delegation of creative, dedicated, and innovative people. The challenges will be lots of fun but might also push you to think outside of the box! 

PARTICIPATION TRYOUTS: September 21 at 7 PM in the Desmarais building. Exact location will be provided upon extension of tryout offer. There will be two components to the tryout: the first is a formal interview to evaluate your ability to complete participation challenges, and the second will be to test your ability to hype up a crowd.

SOCIAL ROLE: You are the excitement and comedy of the competition. The role entails improv challenges, collaborative activities with other universities and new friends, and a challenging academic case. In social, you will laugh and compete all weekend long, brining a much needed energy to the competition. 

SOCIAL TRYOUTS: The social tryouts will be conducted in a virtual manner this year. You will submit a brief video responding to the prompt "Which Barbie/Ken would you be and why". This video can be emailed to social.tcct@gmail.com and must not exceed 10 minutes. The deadline to submit this video is September 21st at 11:59pm.

Éligibilité : Pour participer à la compétition, vous devez être un étudiant de Telfer inscrit à au moins 2 cours comptant dans l'obtention de votre B.Com au cours du semestre d'automne 2023, ou être inscrit dans un placement COOP via Telfer.

Dates de la compétition: 5 au 8 janvier 2024 (Si vous êtes dans le programme co-op, vous manquerez deux jours de travail: le vendredi 5 et le lundi 8. Si vous prenez des cours, vous manquerez vos cours du lundi 8 janvier.)

RÔLE EN PARTICIPATION : Vous êtes les PERSONNES HYPE #1 ; vous savez comment dynamiser une foule et comment motiver les autres en diffusant une énergie positive! Votre week-end sera rempli d'activités amusantes qui garderont tout le monde engagé tout au long de la compétition. Vous aurez également quelques tâches à accomplir, si nécessaire, pour assurer le bon déroulement du week-end. 

RÔLE EN SOCIAL: Vous êtes l'élément excitant et comique de la compétition. Ce rôle implique des défis d'improvisation, des activités de collaboration avec d'autres universités et de nouveaux amis, ainsi qu'un cas académique stimulant. En social, vous rirez et concourrez tout au long du week-end, apportant au concours l'énergie dont il a tant besoin.

ESSAIS DE PARTICIPATION : Le 21 septembre à 19h dans le bâtiment Desmarais. Le lieu exact sera communiqué lorsque l'offre d'essai sera prolongée. L'essai comportera deux volets : le premier est un entretien formel visant à évaluer votre capacité à relever des défis de participation, et le second servira à tester votre capacité à animer une foule.

ESSAIS DE SOCIAL: Cette année, les sélections sociales se dérouleront de manière virtuelle. Vous devrez soumettre une brève vidéo répondant à la question "Quelle Barbie/Ken seriez-vous et pourquoi?" Cette vidéo peut être envoyée par courriel à social.tcct@gmail.com et ne doit pas dépasser 10 minutes. La date limite pour soumettre cette vidéo est le 21 septembre à 23h59.

By clicking "Yes", you understand that there will be a participation fee you must pay in order to compete. This fee is around 475$ and includes transportation, swag (jacket, sweater, t-shirt...), 3 nights hotel, meals the entire weekend, gala, etc. TCCT has a very flexible payment plan and we can tailor it to your individual needs. There is also the possibility of recruiting sponsors to reduce this fee. | En cliquant sur "Oui", vous comprenez que si vous êtes choisis, vous devrez payer les frais de participation.
