The International Society of Limnology (SIL) is planning to document the changes in aquatic systems in response to altered human activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic and if possible, facilitate performing a systematic global-scale assessment to characterize such impacts. As a first step, this database is aimed to compile preliminary information (metadata) from researchers who are/will be collecting data from aquatic systems (e.g. water quality, food-web structure, fisheries, etc.) during/immediately after the crisis period. As the second step, we hope to invite researchers to upload their data to a digital repository and facilitate collaborations among them to conduct a systematic global-scale study.
