Prince George Fire Centre bans and restrictions

View all bans and restrictions for the Prince George Fire Centre, which includes the north of the Interior Plateau and the Omenica Mountains to the north, sections of the Rocky Mountain Trench and Peace Liard country to the east and part of the Cariboo range to the south.

Current Prince George fire prohibitions

Effective at 12 p.m. (noon) on Thursday March 28, 2024, Category 2 and Category 3 open burning will be prohibited across the Prince George Fire Centre.

Before lighting a fire of any size, please check with your local jurisdiction (municipality, First Nations, etc.) as they may have their own restrictions in place.

Current Prince George area restrictions

Effective at 12 p.m. (noon) on Sunday, May 12, 2024, the Northeast Wildfires Area Restriction Order will be implemented in the Fort Nelson Zone.
