Consultation has concluded.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out our survey, which is now closed. Your input will informed the findings and recommendations in the Study.

Help us build a vision for age-friendly recreation in Port Moody!

Recreation is age-friendly when it includes opportunities that are tailored to the needs of older adults, so they can stay active, healthy, and involved in their community.

We’re gathering information for an Age-Friendly Recreation Facility Study. We want to know:

  • What types of programs and services for older adults are most needed in Port Moody?
  • How could we potentially adapt or design facilities or spaces to meet the needs of our older community members?

The Study will build on previous work such as Port Moody’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan and our Age-Friendly Assessment and Action Plan. It will guide City staff and Council in future planning and decision making.

Please note the City has not allocated any funds for construction of a new facility or renovation of existing facilities. After the Age-Friendly Recreation Facility Study has been finalized, next steps might include an exploration of potential funding opportunities such as grants or partnerships.

Past engagement opportunities

In April/May 2022 Port Moody residents were given the opportunity to give input via a community survey. The results from this survey are included in the draft Age-Friendly Recreational Facility Study presented to Council on April 23, 2024 (item 7.2).
