Program Overview

The Family Resource Centre provides support to families connected with Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) and families that are providing Family Managed Services (FMS) through Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD). The Centre provides a wide range of services such as understanding and maintaining FSCD and PDD FMS agreements, group learning opportunities, networking opportunities, assistance with planning for their family members and supports to secure staffing.

Can anyone access the Family Resource Centre (FRC)?

The FRC provides information to Central Albertans who have a Child with a Disability or have Family Managed Supports for their adult family member with a Developmental Disability. If we are not the right resource for you, we will direct you to an appropriate source.

How many times can someone access the Family Resource Centre?

The FRC is available to support you with training, navigation support and community based connections. There is no time limit on the support we provide.

Will the Family Resource Centre hire staff to work with my family member?

The FRC will provide you with guidance on hiring and retaining staff. We can assist with networking to develop contacts with other FMS Administrators and families.
