About this engagement
Your input matters as we look for solutions to keep packaging, plastic and paper waste out of our communities. How much trash we throw out has a direct impact on our environment, filling up our landfills and polluting our water and land.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy is gathering feedback from the public on proposed policy approaches to prevent waste from packaging, plastic and paper products from institutions, businesses and industry in the non-residential sector.
Preventing waste includes actions such as:
- Reducing
- Reusing
- Recycling
The non-residential sector includes places such as:
- Institutions (for example, schools and healthcare settings)
- Commercial businesses (for example, offices, retail, restaurants)
- Light industrial sites (for example, job-sites, work camps)
How your input makes a difference
The Province is looking for policy approaches to prevent waste outside the home that will have the best environmental outcomes and build on current successes.
Your input will be used to help develop policies for preventing waste from non-residential packaging, plastic and paper products across the province.
A What We Learned report will be published in Fall 2024.
About this questionnaire
The questionnaire should take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete.
The questionnaire will be open from April 23 until July 23, 2024 at 4:00 pm.
