Queen's University "Meducators" is a new initiative being organized by members of the Queen's Medicine Class of 2023 that is aimed at supporting healthcare providers and other essential staff within the Kingston Health Sciences Center (KHSC) Network and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of the program is to provide educational support and assistance to children of all ages, in a variety of languages (especially French) and subjects.
We expect a minimum commitment of 1 hour per week, for at least 2-months (until the end of the school year).
We anticipate that needs of the children and their families will vary widely, and thus, we do not require specific past tutoring experience (although experience is welcomed!). The service may range from simply supporting the student virtually while they complete their homework, to creating full-on lesson plans to aid their learning. We encourage students from a variety of backgrounds to sign-up*!
*Please note: at this time we are only recruiting volunteers who are studying in the schools of Medicine, Nursing, or Rehabilitation Therapy. Additionally, while we will try match as many volunteers as possible, due to discrepancies in sign-up numbers, we cannot guarantee that all volunteers will be matched.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to Morgan King (
