Your invitation to support religion coverage at the Winnipeg Free Press!
"We write about religion since it is an important part of people's lives. We want to show people of faith the Free Press recognizes them and the contribution they make to the community. At a time when religion is all too often dismissed, discounted and derided, we believe faith remains a strong influence in public life. To ignore its impact on our national discourse would be to shortchange our audience."
Free Press editor Paul Samyn.
The Free Press Religion in the News project is a way for you to make sure faith is part of public life through the media.
Through the project, you can ensure the news about religion isn’t only about scandal or violence through terrorism.
It’s also about how people of faith are doing their best to serve and help others — stories about the ways they strive to make the world a better place.
Telling those stories is the goal of the Religion in the News project.
Since 2019, local faith groups and individuals have supported the project. Since that time, over 1,100 stories about faith in Manitoba have been published in the paper and online—and not only on the Saturday faith page, but every day through the whole print version of the paper.
With your support, you can keep this project going! Your contribution of $25, $50 or more this year will help us keep producing stories about faith in Manitoba.
Thank-you for considering this opportunity to be a part of telling the story of faith in Manitoba!
