Thanks to all who took part in the 2021 Great Canadian Hike from September 15 to October 31!
In early September, Trans Canada Trail called on people in all 13 provinces and territories to DISCONNECT from screens and RECONNECT to nature and to one another, by collectively spending 28,000 hours on Canada’s 28,000 km-long national trail.
Canadians accepted the challenge with enthusiasm and people from EVERY province and territory took part by hiking, walking, rolling, paddling or biking along the Trail. We are proud to announce that over 12,171 participants logged an astounding 122,525 collective hours on the Trail, far surpassing our goal of 28,000 hours spent on the 28,000-km long national trail.
For some inspiration for your next Trail outing, be sure to check out the incredible photographs Great Canadian Hikers captured on their local sections of the Trans Canada Trail. We’ve created a PHOTO GALLERY where you can see all of them, or select a particular province or territory to focus on an area of particular interest to you. Enjoy!
Together with our partners, we created an epic Trail of trails – a national unity project that brings together people from all walks of life.
