Election time approaches!
Nominations for seven positions on the Halton Physician Association (HPA) Board of Directors, two primary care physician representatives to the CCH-OHT Collaborative Committee, and one specialist physician representative to the CCH-OHT Collaborative Committee are now open.
All members of the HPA can nominate one or more candidates (see NOTES for descriptions of these positions). All terms of office are two (2) years, renewable for a total of six (6) consecutive years.
Please ensure that the person(s) you nominate is willing to stand for election to the position delineated on the ballot! Nominations have been extended to close April 7, 2023.
Following the close of nominations, a list of nominees and their bios will be sent to each HPA member along with voting ballots. Each HPA member can vote for up to seven (7) candidates for the HPA executive, one (1) specialist physician representative at the CCH-OHT, and two (2) primary care physician representatives (Oakville, Halton Hills) at the CCH-OHT. Voting goes from April 10-17, 2023.
NOTES:
The HPA Board of Directors serves as the governance and decision-making body of the HPA. They base their decisions on the insights and feedback provided by HPA members. HPA Directors use their talents to develop, promote and/or implement programs and events to better your personal and professional lives of physicians. In addition, HPA Directors work collaboratively to: keep the HPA up-to-date and running efficiently; ensure ongoing communication with members & community partners/agencies; and advocate for HPA members, their patients and communities.
CCH-OHT Collaborative Committee SPECIALIST physician representative along with three (3) primary care physicians sit at the Connect Care Halton-Ontario Health Team (CCH-OHT) table as representatives and advocates of HPA members. The specialist must work in Milton or Oakville or Halton Hills. The specialist physician representative brings to the CCH-OHT table the insights and concerns of Halton specialists and their patients informed by the values, goals, policies and mandate of the HPA.
CCH-OHT Collaborative Committee two (2) PRIMARY CARE physician representatives (Oakville, Halton Hills) are currently up for re-election. These seats, along with the Milton Primary Care physician representative, and the Specialist representative, comprise the physician representatives of the Collaborate Committee. The primary care physicians bring to the CCHOHT table the insights and concerns of primary care physicians and their patients, along with the unique health issues of each community they represent, informed by the values, goals, policies and mandate of the HPA.
