About Healthy Minds Nova Scotia

HealthyMindsNS is a suite of online mental health resources, available free to post-secondary students, to complement the mental health supports and services available on campuses.

HealthyMindsNS was created to make sure students have access to mental health supports whenever they need them, to strengthen students’ knowledge of mental health issues, and to provide a wider array of resources, particularly for students experiencing mild to moderate symptoms.

HealthyMindsNS does not collect your personal information. When you access an online mental health resource available through HealthyMindsNS you will be directly connected with the mental health resource provider. A provider may require you to provide some of your personal information to access their supports. HealthyMindsNS reminds you to always exercise caution when sharing your personal information on the internet. Ensure that you:

  • Read and understand the providers privacy policies, terms of service and member rules whenever you are asked to provide personal information. These documents will explain how your personal information will be handled by the provider. Understanding the circumstances where a provider will collect, use, and disclosed your personal information helps you make informed decisions about the information you share online.
  • Keep your password and account details private and secure. Keeping this information in a safe place that can’t be accessed by others and always logging out of shared devices helps protect your personal information from being accessed by others without your consent.

Challenging and stressful situations aren’t always convenient. They don’t always happen during regular office hours when most on-site campus services are open. There are times when you’re having trouble managing stress, when you’re going through a difficult time, and you need to reach out for help. Having online mental health resources helps to bridge this gap.
