Status of COVID-19 Cases and Vaccinations in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties

Case counts listed below are based on lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. Data is extracted from the province’s Integrated Public Health Information System (IPHIS) for cases reported up to August 12, 2020 and from the COVID-19 Case and Contact Management (CCM) system from August 13, 2020 onward. This dashboard will be updated weekly on Wednesday at 11 a.m. except on holidays. Between 10:00 am to 11:00 am, visuals in the dashboard may present conflicting information. Certain visuals will update sooner than others due to data caching on the Microsoft Power BI server. Refresh page for latest version.

Local data is continuously shifting to reflect changes from CCM case information for our region, and to reflect the ongoing review of data quality. As such, information presented in this dashboard may differ from what has been displayed in previous reports. Each new report represents the most up to date information available, and replaces all previously reported statistics. When differences arise between information in this dashboard and provincially released data about cases in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, this dashboard takes precedence. Provincial reporting may incorrectly attribute some positive COVID-19 cases to Hastings and Prince Edward Counties that are associated with former residents who have not updated their addresses with the province.

In alignment with current provincial guidance, HPEPH is following exposures to COVID-19 in high-risk settings including long-term care and retirement homes, hospitals, and congregate living settings. As a result, our ability to identify outbreaks in other settings (e.g. workplaces, retail, restaurants) is severely limited. While the HPEPH dashboard is now reporting outbreaks only in the settings above, it is important to recognize this may not accurately reflect the number of outbreaks in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.
