POST-GRADUATE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUR STUDENTS

PATHY FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP

Do you know an exceptional student who is passionate about making a difference? The Pathy Foundation Fellowship is a perfect post-graduation opportunity for emerging leaders who want to initiate change in their community. The Pathy Foundation Fellowship is an intensive, 12-month experiential-learning opportunity in youth leadership and community engagement. We provide comprehensive training, wrap-around supports, and generous funding to equip Fellows with the best possible tools and supports to grow as leaders, make an impact in a community they’re connected with, and gain competencies that will serve them for life.

Graduating students from our partner universities may apply with a self-directed project idea they would like to implement in a community anywhere in the world. This year-long Fellowship is designed for students who show a capacity and potential to develop and evolve as leaders and who have a meaningful, pre-existing connection with a community of their choosing.

Many young people find their futures thanks to people like you. Thank you for sharing this opportunity with students at your university!

THE FELLOWSHIP EXPERIENCE

This post-graduate program is delivered through a hybrid education model, incorporating the Coady Institute’s innovative approach to asset-based community-driven development, a participant-focused, flexible learning agenda, and technical expertise. Additional dedicated supports are integrated throughout the program to optimize participant learning and growth.

Each Pathy Fellowship cohort will participate in the following program phases:

• Foundations for Community Change is an intensive training component on-campus at Coady Institute. During this training, Fellows are introduced to topics such as: the Coady approach to working equitably with communities, leadership styles and interactions with others, personal and professional development, participatory project planning and management, Fellowship finances, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Additional topics are selected annually.

• During the Transition Phase, Fellows return home and further develop their initiatives based on learnings from program training. The Transition Phase includes regular check-ins with peers and Coady, along with further distance-based learning and planning before beginning the Community Phase.

• An extended Community Phase makes up the majority of the Fellowship timeline. During this phase, Fellows will implement their community-based projects. Fellows also receive ongoing support and distance learning from Coady, as well as regular sessions with the Fellows’ personal coach and mentors.

• The Debriefing is the final component of the program, where Fellows will evaluate personal and professional growth, outcomes from the community phase, and identify next steps. Fellows will celebrate their Fellowship year and complete a visioning of possibilities in their journey as change-makers.
