The keynote speech featuring Dr. Dwayne Benjamin will be delivered in an interview style and will share evidence about how graduate students transition into the labour market from different disciplines. The discussion will include an overview of the employment data in Canada, how Canadian institutions and faculties are supporting graduate students to join the workforce, and how graduate students can grow their strengths and reach their full potential during their studies. Graduate students have an important role in the highly skilled Canadian workforce, yet they still confront significant roadblocks in their entry into the labour market. Join us for an insightful discussion about the key factors contributing to these challenges, and promising practices to address them.

Each career panel will focus on a different industry. The panels will consist of 3-4 speakers, who can speak to their personal career journeys and their current roles and responsibilities.
Each session will be in a moderated Q&A format, with an opportunity for the audience to submit their questions in real time.

Workshops designed to give trainees an example of what a professional in this field might experience.
The sessions will begin with an overview of the industry followed by an introduction and guidance on a micro-project. Participants will then be given time during the session to work on their micro-projects and ask the facilitator questions. Finally, micro-projects will be presented or discussed in more detail by the facilitator and the attendees.
Workshop description: Medical affairs has emerged as a critical part of the pharmaceutical industry. Professionals in this area undertake critical activities to support scientific stakeholder engagement, medical information and education, insight gathering, evidence generation as well as outcomes research activities. Possessing scientific expertise coupled with an understanding of governance and compliance, medical affairs personnel are also expected to be adept at communications, strategy, relationship and network-building and a host of other interpersonal and project management skills. This workshop will review the various roles and skills required for success in the medical affairs area.

Virtual networking opportunities for attendees to speak one-on-one with professionals in their field of interest - similar to informational interviews. Each professional will speak with up to three (3) attendees, each in a 15-minute block. The Organizing Committee will match interested registrants to professionals on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those who are not matched will be waitlisted.
Participants who expressed interest in this session will receive confirmation of their matches via email by Friday, May 6th and will be asked to confirm their attendance. For those who were not matched, we will offer a waitlist in case scheduled participants do not show up for their scheduled chat.

Description
Join us in this session as we learn how to take all the skills we have learned to prepare for a job interview. We will go over how to understand interview motivation and learning how to tell skills stories. We will also discuss how to get to know the company, and ask the interviewers the right questions.
One-on-one opportunities where attendees can have a practice interview with a University of Toronto Career Centre or a company representative.
Each interview is 17 minutes long, where 15 minutes will be dedicated to the practice interview and 2 minutes will be on feedback. Participating representatives will have the opportunity to meet with up to three (3) successful candidates over the session. Interested registrants are asked to submit a one (1) page resume at the time of registration. Successful candidates will receive an invitation from the LSCE Organizing Committee on behalf of the interviewers, and they will be given 48 hours to accept the invitation and select a specific time slot for their interviews before the invitation is forfeited.

To cap off the Expo, we invite all attendees and professionals, including all participating speakers and representatives,
to come together for a networking finale! Two (2) professionals will be paired in breakout rooms and will be joined by up
to four (4) attendees in two (2) 20-minute rounds of networking. This will be an opportunity to meet new people and practice networking skills learned throughout the Expo.
Please note, this session will be capped at 300 attendees.
