Salary: $32,000.00

Job Description:

Our School is seeking a parental leave term replacement for our Operations Coordinator for one year to report to the Board of Directors, and to be responsible for:

Operations:

  • The purchase, distribution and inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Organizing and maintaining inventory, supply shelves, and storage areas.
  • Managing accounts with suppliers, and researching new sources.
  • Coordinating building maintenance and cleaning when needed.
  • Managing and scheduling community related events.
  • Managing rentals and organizing special events.
  • Assisting with the creation and execution of workshop schedules.
  • Communicating with instructors to ensure studios are equipped and ready for programs
  • Communication with instructors and students regarding supplies and material lists.
    • Organizing studios prior to each term and when necessary.
    • Keeping ceramics studios organized including cleaning of the ‘wet room’.

General Administration and Marketing:

  • Assist in registering students by phone, internet and in person including taking payments and issuing payment reminders.
  • Managing telephone inquiries and voicemail.
  • Managing email inquiries.
  • Executing marketing campaigns via e-news, social medias, the school website, and the distribution of physical marketing materials.
  • Assisting in fundraising programs, when needed.
  • Keeping informed of and enforcing up to date COVID-19 guidelines from the Nova Scotia Public Health Authority.

Additional Info:

  • This position is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week, with some weekend or early evening hours.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • A university degree in a related field
  • Practical employment experience in a customer-facing environment
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of art materials and supplies
  • An aptitude on the Mac platform
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Social Media experience using Facebook and Instagram, and well as MailChimp and Hootsuite platforms.
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to multi-task
  • A valid driver’s license
  • The ability to work flexible hours, if needed.
