Calls to Action (5)

1. The Precision Mental Health Team seeks family leader feedback on the new general patient-reported outcome measure (PROM). They would love your input on this new measure called the OCHS-EBS. Our program could provide them with both a youth/young adult viewpoint and a general family leader perspective. If you are interested please reach out and the document will be provided as soon as possible. The is an honorarium provided, and the task is estimated to be about 30 minutes and needed by June 16th.

2. The Family Leader Program has been invited to participate in this national study related to knowledge translation/mobilization (KT/KM) in child health and would like to extend the invitation to each of you. They are seeking healthcare providers, researchers, families with children with support needs (any/no diagnosis), and people who support KM to participate

3. Amika, who oversees the Permission to Contact Program is looking to connect with 2-3 more individuals who would be open/interested in advising on the communications. You would be joining a small group of our family leaders working on this project since the foundations. Together they are seeking some additional voices to join their team. The time commitment would be minimal. Amika can book a call to explain the program and rollout, and then you will be asked to review some documents over the summer. Let me know if you are interested and I can set up an e-introduction.

4. Research Growth Awards. We have 14 applications to review. Please check your email/junk folder over the next few days as I will send the research topics and line-up requests for review. We aim to complete all our reviews between June 1-14.

5. Anna Dion of BORN (Better Outcomes Registry & Network) is seeking to engage some of our family leaders. Are you interested in guiding research and information-sharing around cannabis use during pregnancy and parenting? Do you have lived experience of cannabis use during pregnancy and early parenthood (e.g., up until your child was 6 years old)?

We are a research group focused on understanding the effects of cannabis use during pregnancy and early parenting. We are interested in working with a parent advisory group of 4-6 people with lived experience of cannabis use during pregnancy and/or early parenting and/or parents that may not have the lived experience but are supportive community members that want to advocate and encourage parent members. You are not required to disclose your experience with cannabis use in group meetings, and we will not share any information outside of the group without your permission.

If you are…

  • Respectful of others’ opinions and ideas

  • Curious and open to new ideas or ways of doing things

  • Comfortable speaking in a group and asking for clarification if needed

  • Able to work collaboratively with others

  • A good listener

...we would love to hear from you! Please do not hesitate to contact Anna Dion at (adion@cheo.on.ca) and Kim Courtney (kcourtney@cheo.on.ca) for more information. We can share our terms of reference for our advisory group and provide you with our expression of interest form.
