Sharing this exciting collaborative initiative for our community on behalf of Children First, John Mc Givney Children’s Centre & Connections Early Years Family Centre...

Good afternoon,

Please find attached a Guide to Service Providers to inform you on the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Caregiver-Mediated Early Years (CMEY) programs in Windsor-Essex.

Families must first receive an invitation from the Ministry of Children, Community & Social Services before they can register.

The attached Guide will provide you with additional information and directions on how to help the family you work with.

If you have any questions please contact Children First at info@children-first.ca at 519-250-1850. Autism Services Coordinator Jennifer Westlake will be able to assist you.

Looking for qualified workers for your company? The B2B Virtual Fair: Find Global Talent is the event not to be missed! Sept 28-29

Dear Sir or Madam,

In September 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will organize, in collaboration with RDÉE Canada, a B2B Virtual Fair specifically for Canadian employers.

Your time is precious, we know that! Immigration is a solution to the shortage of skilled labour, and francophone and bilingual immigrants are undeniable assets for you as an employer to run your business,
but also for the community. The B2B Virtual Fair will take place online, during two half-days, on September 28 and 29, 2021.
The B2B Virtual Fair will be a space to:
  • introduce you to potential pools of francophone candidates through which you can hire talent
  • inform you about IRCC and provincial and territorial programs that support francophone immigration
  • introduce you to the various services available to help you in your recruitment in Canada and abroad (Destination Canada Forum Mobility, Virtual Job Fairs, Public Employment Services)
  • exchange on the needs of the labour market in the context of the pandemic and in the longer term.
The B2B Virtual Fair will also host practical workshops to equip you with tools and resources for international recruitment.

All information will be available for download.

Reminder: Black Youth Mental Health and Justice Forum - Pathways to Care (BHA) and the Black Legal Action Centre - Sept 23

Good day,

I am writing to inform you about a forum Pathways to Care hosting with the Black Legal Action Centre (BLAC) on Thursday, September 23rd, from 6-8 pm.

The Black Legal Action Centre (BLAC) is an independent not-for-profit community legal clinic that combats individual and systemic anti-Black racism by conducting research, engaging in structural transformation, and providing legal services to members of Ontario’s Black communities. BLAC engages in advocacy, community development, law reform, test case litigation, and public legal education. BLAC is funded by Legal Aid Ontario and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

The forum will focus on research done by Pathways to Care and will highlight the current challenges Black youth experience in the mental health, justice, and education systems.

BLAC will also lead two presentations. The first focuses on learning how to advocate for yourself and the Black youth in your life, highlighting resources supported by and connected to BLAC. BLAC will be presenting information on the direct legal services the clinic provides, on understanding anti-Black racism and facing discrimination in the workplace, school, or when receiving services, and how to file a Human Rights complaint or take legal action.

The second presentation by the Links to Justice project (BLAC) will focus on the options available to Black youth and their families if they come into contact with the youth justice system, including tips on navigating the system, restorative justice, and mental health diversion.

You can find more information and signup at the Eventbrite link: https://blackyouthforum.eventbrite.ca/

Please feel free to share with your contacts.

We look forward to sharing with you.
