Another group travelling the “east route” will depart from Rivière-du-Loup on Friday at 7 a.m., heading along Highway 20; arriving in Quebec City at 9:30 a.m., St-Liboire at 12:30 p.m., then through Montreal via Highways 25 and 40, stopping briefly to rendez-vous with the Eastern Townships convoy, and continuing on to Vankleek Hill, Ont., arriving at 3 p.m.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said the Truckers Freedom Convoy represents a “fringe minority” whose “unacceptable views” don’t represent the way most Canadians feel.

As of Thursday afternoon, a GoFundMe page for the initiative had raised over $6.3 million of its $7 million goal.
