BC Music Fund

On February 11, 2016, the Province of BC announced the creation of the BC Music Fund, a $15-million investment to support the growth of B.C.’s music industry.

The BC Music Fund was administered by Creative BC through March 31, 2018, with the goals of stimulating direct investment, job creation, music tourism, increased regional activity, and the export of BC music. A full complement of funding programs were designed to stimulate economic growth and activity by investing in B.C.’s diverse music sector.

Based on feedback from stakeholders across B.C.’s music industry, Creative BC launched eight programs to support the careers of B.C. artists, live music performances, the development of music companies, training & export initiatives, research, innovation, and the growth of the B.C. music industry.

Industry Catalyst

The Industry Catalyst program supported projects that build the capacity of underrepresented groups in B.C.’s music ecosystem.

Funded by the Province of British Columbia, this program was administered by Creative BC. Micro-grants were awarded to B.C. artists who were eligible and had previously applied to Amplify BC programs, to support livestreaming, songwriting, and professional development.
