NORC Ambassador Program

The NORC Ambassadors program partners with older adults living in high-rise buildings to start or strengthen aging in place activities. We work alongside motivated residents to understand what might support aging in place in your building, and work with you to start community activities that meet these goals.

Activities will depend on the unique needs and desires of each community. We do not define the activities - you do! Some past examples include:

  • Health and wellness activities (organizing meals, workshops on health topics such as pain management or supporting a loved one with dementia)
  • Social activities (book clubs, movie nights, coffee socials)
  • Recreational activities (walking groups, music events)
  • Safety and emergency preparedness planning (neighbours helping neighbours program) Our goal is to work with you to develop activities that will support older adults to stay healthy and connected, to improve a sense of community belonging, and to have a little fun along the way.

Buildings who participate in the Ambassador Program are invited to become part of our alumni network where there will be opportunities to share stories with older adults from other buildings, as well as receive training and access ongoing support.
