Water Lines, a new anthology edited by Angela Leuk, in collaboration with filmmaker Louise Abbott, has gathered the new writing of 70 Eastern Townships of Quebec authors.

“In this anthology, 70 English-language poets and prose writers from the Eastern Townships of Quebec pay tribute to water and explore its fertile symbolism. With its beautiful lakes and waterways, the Eastern Townships at the spectacular north end of the Appalachian Mountains has long been both the birthplace and refuge of writers. In the twentieth century, nationally celebrated poets (Leonard Cohen, Louis Dudek, D.G. Jones, F.R. Scott and others) and novelists (Hugh MacLennan and Mordecai Richler) have practiced their craft here. Now, in the twenty-first century, the Townships’ literary tradition thrives.”

The anthology launches on Sunday, November 24th 2019 at Studio Georgeville, located at 20 Carre Copp, Georgeville, Quebec.

The format for the launch is an OPEN HOUSE, beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m, allowing room for the many expected attendees to enjoy the space and hear readings from the authors.

“The money raised (by the sales of the book) will be formally presented to our two selected water conservation organizations.” Writes Angela Leuck.
