Iron deficiency with or without anemia (ID/A) can have negative impacts on child health and development, which may be irreversible. Low sociodemographic or immigrant/refugee children are at higher risk for ID/A. ID/A is easily preventable with proper nutritional practices. We propose to test the acceptability and feasibility of implementing a novel practice within the existing 12-month-old primary care or CLSC vaccination visit. Parents will fill out a questionnaire to help identify and lead to prompt treatment of ID/A. We are collaborating with clinicians, managers, and patient partners to ensure success of our study and findings will be shared widely.
