Fall Motorcycle Tours at Ontario Resorts

Fall Motorcycle Tours at Ontario Resorts

There are so many advantages to fall motorcycle touring - the sights of the fiery reds, oranges and yellows, the crisp cool air, the open roads. But the best way to enjoy fall is at one of the spectacular resorts in Ontario - so when you’ve completed one of these routes, make sure to book a night or two. Sitting in a hot tub and sipping champagne (or a craft beer you’ve picked up along the way) is the best way to wrap up a day on the road.

Ride the Highlands

Ride the Highlands is arguably Ontario’s best riding - if not its most technical. Vast hardwood forests here ensure that you’ll see plenty of fiery reds, but it's the roads that will have you coming back for more - many of which have recently been repaved. But it's the legendary resorts that make the days spent in the Highlands picture perfect. These resorts epitomize what the Resort lifestyle is all about. Check out RideTheHighlands.ca for routes, and the list below for our top picks for resorts in the area.

Ride the Edge

Algonquin and Muskoka are two of Ontario’s most iconic destinations, and Ride the Edge combines them with Parry Sound and the Almaguin Highlands for a truly spectacular ride. They’ve produced two loops that work well for either a weekend trip or four day ride. Expect colours to peak in this area in the first two weeks of October, with temps in a comfortable range - with mornings being a little cooler. We suggest starting your day late, and having breakfast at any of the following impeccable resorts.

Ride the North

The further North you go, the quieter the roads get. If you’re looking to commune with pristine nature, on highways that wind and weave through thousands of quiet lakes and through the Canadian Shield, this is it. You’ll find towns further apart and people are friendlier here. The boreal forest offers splashed of yellow and orange throughout, but you’ll find that the open blue skies and reflections on the lake to be the most captivating views on this ride. Cruise the Coast

Fall comes early in Ontario’s South Coast, so be prepared to be hitting the road the first week of October. Ontario Parks has the most comprehensive map of fall colours which you can check out here, but the warmer temps in the south mean that you can start your ride earlier. Cruise the Coast’s website has a good dozen routes to choose from, and we’ve selected a few great resorts to lay your head and indulge in the resort lifestyle below.

These are our recommendations for a wonderful fall ride. The days are shorter, but that just means that this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and amenities of your resort stay for a bit longer before taking in all that fall in Ontario has to offer. See you on the highways!
