2021

On October 1, 2021, following the wind up of the Municipal Hazardous or Special Waste Program operated by Stewardship Ontario, the Hazardous and Special Products Regulation came into effect. RPRA held an event and created supportive documents to help affected stakeholders with understanding their obligations.

On September 15, 2021, RPRA hosted a webinar to help producers understand their requirements under the Hazardous and Special Products (HSP) Regulation. During this webinar, RPRA’s Deputy Registrar, Mary Cummins, explained upcoming producer reporting and registration requirements, reviewed future requirements and answered questions. Topics included:

  • Obligated HSP materials
  • Producer definitions
  • Registration and reporting requirements
