What keeps your fire burning? Using story, creative movement song and collaborative games, we will explore the many ways for which we keep our fire's burning and have some fun in the process. We also extend the invitation to bring an item, idea or a word that shares how you keep your fire burning!

Bridging Ceremony and Social Time with Youth

Junior Youth (12-13 year olds) are welcome to participate in the Bridging Ceremony on Saturday. This is a special occasion to mark the transitions in our lives, especially for those entering and leaving youth and young adult-hood. Bridging is one of the unique rites of passage of our Unitarian Universalist faith. Conference attendees of all ages are invited to witness this important youth and young-adult led worship, and celebrate those who are bravely stepping from one phase of life to another.

Junior youth are also invited to hang out with the youth of CazUUm (the virtual youth conference) to play some fun games and get to know the youth community before the Bridging Ceremony.

Reach out to Casey at casey@cuc.ca if your Junior Youth would like to participate in these events.

Meet Mel Horvath-Lucid

Mel Horvath-Lucid serves as the Director of Lifelong Learning with the Unitarian Congregation of Guelph and is excited to bring her passion for Children and Youth ministry to the CUC conference. As a yoga teacher, youth facilitator, musician and creative, Mel aims to meet children and youth were they are and to co-create programming together. Building on the conference theme of Sustaining Our Light, we will seek - through activities, crafts, story, song, and imagination to explore our own connection to light and to cultivate deeper awareness of our unique gifts and power to let our own light shine on a more inclusive, loving and kind world!
