Mission Statement
The Special Education mission of the Eastern Townships School Board is to help all students be their best by ensuring a compassionate, quality learning environment that respects the uniqueness of each student through an individualized inclusive learning service.
At the ETSB, we believe all students deserve to get the best education possible so that they can function in our society to the best of their abilities. Our goal is to offer all of our students the necessary services in order to help them achieve their educational success. We must adapt our actions to the needs of our students to ensure that they have the best possible chance of achieving success in terms of knowledge, social development, and qualifications.

Who are our students with special needs?
Any student who requires support to demonstrate and acquire knowledge, develop competency, develop autonomy and achieve social integration.
Specifically, but not limited to students with
a disability that may have an impact on academic and school success;
a social or adaptive behaviours difficulties that may have an impact on academic and school success;
a learning difficulty that may have an impact on academic and school success;
any difficulties putting them at risk in their overall development, learning or school success
Parents who feel that their child might experience difficulties at school for any number of reasons are strongly encouraged to reach out to their child’s teacher or school principal.
Sharing what they know about their child's interests, strengths, difficulties and other pertinent information will bring about a better understanding of the student's abilities and needs. Open discussions and communication are key to any child’s school success.
