TALSAA Economic Recovery Gatherings
The Treaty and Aboriginal Land Stewards Association of Alberta (TALSAA) was proud to have hosted a series of Economic Recovery Gatherings throughout 2023-2024. These three-day gatherings brought together industry experts, First Nations Land Managers and other stakeholders from across Alberta to identify regional opportunities for cooperation and economic growth, discussed successes and challenges in First Nations Land Management, developed a plan of action for moving forward with economic recovery, and provided training and workshops on various aspects of First Nations Land Management and economic development.
The gatherings featured keynote speakers, panel discussions, hands-on activities, networking opportunities, as well as a 2-day dedicated training session. The gatherings were hosted four times over the course of 2023-24 starting with the first one in the Fall of 2023 at the host community Alexander First Nation in Alberta. TALSAA also developed an oil and gas toolkit that provided Land Managers with the resources they needed to build knowledge around oil and gas exploration in the province of Alberta.
